What a difference a year makes…. I seem to remember having used that term before!
Just over a year ago, I started this blog with the intention of using it to record what I was doing in my class – honestly! The things that worked AND the things that didn’t. I was – at the time – trying out lots of different ideas in class that used tech to enhance learning. It was a very personal blog – for my own benefit rather than anyone else’s (I either have a short memory or my brain gets full quicklywhen I’m trying out lots of new things at once). The blog became more than a record – it became a place to organise my personal reflections – perhaps about a discussion on twitter that had set me thinking, or a course/conference etc that I had found interesting. It has always been a rather surprising (to me) byproduct that these personal experiences, thoughts and reflections have been of interest to others! But the blog evolved through the year – as I first became a lead teacher then a primary ICT consultant supporting others through the county. As I supported more teachers, there were different experiences to blog about…
And if you read my last post, you will know that over the next 6 months I will be spending time on secondment with Microsoft. Part of that role will be blogging in the Teaching Ideas and Resources blog. So this blog will continue to evolve and become more of a reflective place – as I’m also going to be continuing with my Master’s studies, this will undoubtedly be the main focus of this blog over the next 6 months. I will continue to be tweeting as @janwebb21 but there will also be a new twitter identity for my work tweets – @innovteach2.
Hopefully by having both blogs and both twitter accounts, I won’t end up being confused but it will be clear which role I’m in!!!! I hope you’ll keep checking out both blogs and check out both sets of tweets!!
