I’ve been itching to get a collection of mice together ever since I came back from the European Innovative Education Forum in Berlin last March. But there has been a shortage of mice. At work, where there are normally dozens to be found, only those with the old fashioned connections are in
the box of spare parts. At home, where there are also a lot of mice to be found, there is only a pink mouse courtesy of youngest who got a laptop and doesn’t need it any more. So I bit the bullet and went and bought some – I know, a long time after I initially intended, but better late than never. The first ones I brought home didn’t have usb connectors
– I really should have checked. So at lunchtime today, I decided to take a bit of a break from what I was doing and head back into town to change them. The girl at PC world was extremely helpful – but all the cheap usb mice were out of stock! Eventually we found
some that would do the job without breaking the bank – only for me to sit by the railway bridge for ages while the lorry was removed from under it. I’ve never actually seen a lorry stuck under a railway bridge before!!! It had a lovely redesigned top as it reversed out. BUT now I have 4 mice attached to my usb hub (the little man in the picture) and the activity I plan to use with my class this week was prepared in even less time than I waited by the railway bridge – times tables questions for a fastest finger first activity and clock faces to draw hands on!!! Done extremely quickly by copying and pasting one slide with multiple choice answers, then changing the questions and the assigned answers.
