2011 – A page as yet unwritten

It seems that a lot of people are writing a review of 2010 and/or making predictions or resolutions for the year to come. I was asked what my own predictions were for the year ahead – but this is a very difficult thing to do. As a friend and I were discussing the other day, the more we learn, the less we realise we know. So besides these suggestions that there will be lots of people trying to make the most of the tools they have, or trying to look for the most cost effective (and free!) solution and that there will be increasing use of collaborative tools – for pupils AND for teachers – I’m not going to even attempt to use a crystal-ball approach to predictions.

Instead, I’m approaching 2011 with a feeling of anticipation.  2010 was an awesome year for me and I could never have predicted what it would contain. I don’t know what lies ahead of me this year, either – well, I have a couple of dates in my diary. I know I will be joining Uniservity on their LIFE stand at BETT in January, that I’ve been imageinvited to speak at a “Creativity in the Curriculum” conference in May and the NGFL conference in June. All new experiences!

What I do know is that 2011 promises to be an adventure. That the page will be written, that the people on that journey will continue to teach me, touch me and inspire me. I’m looking forward to it – 2010 taught me that I like adventures!
