I did something completely uncharacteristic and “geeky” about 10 days ago. I bought a domain!!! Why? Perhaps because it’s less of a mouthful to direct people to than www.janwebb21.primaryblogger.co.uk . Perhaps because 2 people within the space of a couple of hours suggested it. Perhaps because I want to remain 21 forever! (it really is my age – honest! 
) Perhaps because janwebb21 has become part of my online identity.
What did I do? I went to godaddy.com, selected the domain name – was spoilt for choice about different endings but I am a poor teacher with teenagers or I could have spent a fortune!!! I picked one and set it all up, then when I was logged into godaddy.com, I followed @johnmclear’s instructions to direct anyone going to janwebb21.com to my primaryblogger blog…. there was just one minor change to the instructions – I needed to direct to the domain name I found in the dashboard section of my blog – under tools/domain mapping. Otherwise it was really simply a case of following instructions!
Am I geeky? I can’t say I could explain much more than directing people to the set of instructions I was given! I can’t say I’m an expert! But does it work? Yes! Does it look as though I know what I am doing?!?! That’s for you to say!
