At #msief, a fantastic opportunity was announced by Taking IT Global – their SHOUT project. You can find out more about it at here and can sign up to join in this amazing global collaboration with your class or school.
Shout involves student directed learning within the context of a single project across different countries to solve a global problem, but also involves a local impact too. It’s a great way of involving students in issues of social responsibility, with the potential to develop citizens with a global conscience. Schools that have taken part have had an impact already, with the fundraising they have done to set up an orang-utan sanctuary. Deforest-action looks set to have an impact on even more schools – just sign up at Shout site to involve your pupils in a global tree measuring experiment and to take the first steps in a collaboration…. what a fantastic way to broaden horizons, be involved in a project that can have a huge impact and use collaborations to extend learning – not to mention empowering pupils to take responsibility for their own learning!
Oh, and there will be a 3D film being made that will involve some of the students from the projects…….
